A Betrayal of Civilization: The Kurdish Stand Against Terror

When ISIS and other terrorist organizations launched their brutal assault on Syria, the only force that consistently stood against them on the ground was the Kurdish people. From Rojava to all parts of Kurdistan, Kurdish fighters defended their land, their communities, and humanity itself. While ISIS waged war on civilization—slaughtering civilians, beheading non-Muslims, murdering children and the elderly—the Kurds resisted.

These crimes were not carried out in isolation. ISIS was not only supported but coordinated, armed, trained, and enabled by Turkey. Turkey was not a bystander; it was an active participant. The bloodshed in Syria was facilitated through deliberate state policy.

Today, the unthinkable has happened. These same forces—ISIS and its affiliates—have been legitimized and positioned to rule Syria. Terrorists have been rewarded with power. ISIS has effectively become the owner of Syria.

Even more shameful is the role of the Western world. The United States and its allies have turned their backs on the Kurdish people—despite the fact that the Kurds were their most reliable allies in the fight against ISIS. This is not just a strategic failure; it is a profound moral one.

This betrayal is immoral. It is dangerous. And it will not end with Syria. Maybe not tomorrow, maybe not next year—but the goal of ISIS and its supporters has always been the destruction of civilization itself.

The Kurdish people stand not only for their own survival, but for the protection of humanity. We defend our nation, our values, and the future. We have proven this through sacrifice, resilience, and unwavering resistance.

We, the Kurdish nation, will never bow our heads. We will never surrender our right to a free, independent, and united Kurdistan. Those who turn their backs on the Kurdish people should be ashamed of themselves.

With respect to my fellow Kurds: our duty is clear. We must do whatever is necessary to defend our land and free it from terrorist occupiers. Our struggle is just, and our resolve is unbreakable.
